Korean Air Launches Airbus A350-900 Service to Kansai
All Nippon Airways (ANA) will expand its in-flight Wi-Fi service.
On domestic flights, the communication bandwidth will be significantly expanded from June 13, allowing video streaming via services like YouTube. The applicable aircraft include all domestic flight equipment except for the DHC-8-400 and the Airbus A320neo (international spec), with the Airbus A320neo unable to use the in-flight Wi-Fi service when operated on international routes.
For international flights, the Boeing 767-300ER, which had temporarily suspended its Wi-Fi service, will be retrofitted with Viasat’s latest in-flight internet equipment. After the retrofit, this aircraft type will provide free high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi service, allowing video streaming in all classes, including economy class.
Initially, services will begin with one Boeing 767-300ER (Tail Number: JA625A) in August, with plans to retrofit three aircraft by fiscal year 2025 and complete all six by fiscal year 2026. Future introductions of new international aircraft and existing Boeing 767-300ERs will also be sequentially retrofitted with the latest in-flight internet equipment. By the end of 2030, the plan is to provide a “free high-speed internet environment for all classes” on over 80% of international flights.
