Emirates Airline will resume its Dubai-Damascus route from July 16.
The airline will operate three round-trip flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, with an additional Saturday flight starting August 2. From October 26, the schedule will shift to one round-trip per day. The service will use a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, configured with 38 business class seats and 264 economy class seats, totaling 302 seats.
The airline began operations to Damascus in 1988 and suspended the service in 2012. The decision to resume operations was based on a comprehensive evaluation by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (UAE GCAA).
Trade between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Syrian capital is expected to reach 680 million USD in 2024, a 23% increase from the previous year. The UAE is home to a Syrian community of over 350,000 people.
