The Westin Sendai will offer a “KUROMI Afternoon Tea Party” from July 19 to September 26.
Based on the concept of “a charming Kuromi decorated with a sparkling pearl and delicate lace on her ‘hood’ enjoying an elegant tea time,” they will prepare an original menu featuring sweets inspired by Kuromi and specialties from Sendai.
Sweets include a passion fruit and chocolate parfait modeled after Kuromi’s ‘hood,’ fluffy Kuromi marshmallows, and a banana and black sesame cheesecake adorned with a pink ribbon. Savory items such as Sendai strawberry sandwiches topped with zunda mochi and chicken brochettes sandwiched with pickled shallots will also make an appearance.
In addition to the tea stand, a buffet of dishes such as zunda sucre and fritters of sasa-kamaboko draped with rose seaweed will be available on weekends. During weekday dinner times, an evening tea set featuring a platter of Sendai beef roast and beef tongue will be offered.
The venue is the 26th-floor restaurant “Symphony.” The serving time is a 120-minute system from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the last entry at 3:00 p.m. and last orders 20 minutes before closing. Prices start from 5,500 yen for adults on weekdays (including September 23) and from 7,500 yen on weekends and holidays. The evening tea set is available from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the last entry at 7:00 p.m. and last orders 20 minutes before closing, priced at 8,500 yen. All include an original tin mirror as a special perk. Prices include tax and service charge.
