JAL and AA Consider Adding Alaska Airlines Group to Joint Venture
AGP announced that it has received a tender offer proposal from Macquarie Asia-Pacific Infrastructure Investments 4.
They propose to acquire all common shares at 2,015 yen per share. This significantly exceeds the buyout price of 1,550 yen proposed by Japan Airlines (JAL) in connection with its privatization through a stock consolidation.
AGP stated that it will formally begin discussions at a board meeting held today, June 23.
JAL announced that it had received a notice from ANA Holdings and Japan Airport Terminal indicating no change in their intention to support JAL’s privatization through a stock consolidation. The three companies hold approximately 73.26% of the voting rights.
