Oman Air officially joined the oneworld alliance on June 30.
Oman Air, founded in 1993, is the national flag carrier based in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The airline operates over 40 aircraft, including Boeing 737, Boeing 787, and Airbus A330 models configured in two or three classes, serving 42 cities in 22 countries worldwide.
From July 1, mutual mileage accrual and usage will be supported. JAL Mileage Bank members will be able to earn miles when flying with Oman Air, while status members will enjoy services such as lounge access and priority check-in.
Within the past five years, three airlines have joined oneworld: Royal Air Maroc in April 2020, Alaska Airlines in March 2021, and now Oman Air. In the Middle East, there are three members including Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and Oman Air. Qatar Airways acted as a sponsor, providing guidance and support for Oman Air’s entry into the alliance.
