
Cathay Pacific Airways’ Japan Reservations Drop 30% in July Amid Rumors of ‘Major Disaster’
Japan Airlines (JAL) held the “JAL Athlete Academy” at the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium in Sapporo on June 28.
This event, now in its fourth year, involves JAL athlete employees traveling across Japan to share the appeal of sports and provide advice for improving skills in various sports.
This was the first time the event was held in Sapporo, where participants were recruited through social media. A total of 11 elementary school students and 6 junior and senior high school students participated. Among the JAL athlete employees were ski jumper Sora Yachi, and Yuna Kasai and Haruka Kasai, who have won gold and bronze medals at the Nordic Ski World Championships. They trained alongside the participants and answered their questions.
Upcoming events are scheduled for August 24 in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture (fencing), October 12-13 in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, October 24-25 in Amami City, Kagoshima Prefecture, November 16 in Itoman City, Okinawa Prefecture, November 21-22 in Bangkok, Thailand, December 20-21 in Miyazaki City and Takahara Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, and December 26 in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture (all track and field).
