American Airlines has launched a pilot customs inspection program called “One-Stop Security (OSS)” at the arrival gate.
This will be implemented for flights from London/Heathrow to Dallas, in cooperation with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the UK Department for Transport. BagCheck and Brock Solutions are also collaborating.
As a result, passengers can board connecting flights directly without collecting and rechecking their checked luggage or undergoing security screenings again. The program is expected to cut transfer time by more than half.
Earlier this year, a pilot program was also launched at London Heathrow Airport, allowing similar services for transfers to destinations outside the UK. This is the first time such a service is being offered at U.S. airports.
