Hawaiian Airlines will introduce the Boeing 787-9 on the Tokyo/Narita-Seattle route.
From early January to mid-April 2026, it will replace the Airbus A330-200 aircraft. According to the seat availability display, the period of introduction is from January 7 to April 21, 2026.
Inspired by early Polynesian navigation, the design, in collaboration with design consultants Teague, incorporates elements from Pacific voyages such as stars, sun, wind, waves, and wildlife. The carpets and fabrics draw inspiration from the natural elements of the Hawaiian Islands. The seating capacity is 300 seats.
The premium cabin will be branded as “Leihoku Suite,” featuring 34 door-equipped, full-flat seats arranged in a “1-2-1” layout, all facing the aisle. It also includes 18-inch monitors, power outlets, and wireless charging features, developed in collaboration with Adient Aerospace.
The main cabin has 187 seats featuring Collins Aerospace’s Aspire seats. It includes 12-inch monitors, USB-A and USB-C power outlets. In the extra comfort section with 79 seats, which offer more legroom, AC power outlets are also available.
