Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will merge their mileage programs on October 1.
The merged mileage program will be announced in August, and HawaiianMiles members need to complete the transition to the new program by the end of September. Access to HawaiianMiles accounts will be restricted during the week leading up to the merger. Miles and status will be retained in the new program.
Currently, miles between both airlines can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio, and status can be integrated through account linking. Also, redemption of HawaiianMiles for award tickets has already been terminated with six airlines, including Japan Airlines (JAL). Some partner mileage exchanges will also end.
In addition, the “Hawaiian Airlines VISA Card,” issued in partnership with Sumitomo Mitsui Card in Japan, will end its service on September 30.
