Military Clash at Thailand-Cambodia Border, Danger Level Raised
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised the danger level in certain areas following military clashes between the Thai and Cambodian forces near their border.
The danger level has been raised to Level 3 (Travel Advisory Issued) within 30 kilometers of Thailand’s borders with Cambodia’s Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pailin, Pursat, and Koh Kong provinces, and within 50 kilometers of Cambodia’s borders with Thailand’s Sisaket, Surin, Buriram, Ubon Ratchathani, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces.
Previously, the entire Oddar Meanchey province and the Choam Ksant district of Preah Vihear province in Cambodia, as well as within 40 kilometers of Cambodia’s borders with Thailand’s Sisaket, Surin, Buriram, and Ubon Ratchathani provinces, were already at Level 3.
Due to the potential for unforeseen incidents, individuals are advised to refrain from traveling to these areas.
