Keisei Electric Railway Merges with Shin-Keisei and Begins Operating Keisei Matsudo Line
JR East will launch the AI-powered automated voice assistant “Doko-Tore Dial” on July 23 and trial the visual announcement service “Visible Announcements” from August 1.
Doko-Tore Dial is targeted at lines offering the location service “Doko-Tore” which focuses on rural conventional lines, providing information such as train departure times, delays, and running locations based on voice input. The generative AI analyzes input and references “Doko-Tore”, enabling users to obtain information without relying on station staff or call centers, even if they are not familiar with app operations.
Visible Announcements allow users to display station broadcast content on their smartphones in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean by touching a dedicated board within the station or scanning a QR code. The trial will be conducted at 12 stations, including Hamamatsucho, Shibuya, Akabane, Ueno, Akihabara, Kamakura, Hiratsuka, Kunitachi, Chiba, Shin-Kiba, Nagano (only inside the Shinkansen ticket gates), and Tokyo Station, until the end of March 2026.
The company plans to expand the range of information and target routes based on usage conditions and is also considering extending the service to external operators such as buses.
