Keisei Electric Railway Merges with Shin-Keisei and Begins Operating Keisei Matsudo Line
Marunouchi Heat Supply, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Estate engaging in district heating and cooling services primarily in Chiyoda City, has issued a statement regarding the halt of air conditioning at Tokyo Metro’s Kasumigaseki and Hibiya Stations since around July 20.
Acknowledging that the air conditioning stoppage at these stations is due to their equipment malfunction, the company stated that they are working on repairs for a speedy recovery but expect the cooling systems to be up and running by late August. In the meantime, the installation of spot coolers in the station premises is being advanced.
Kasumigaseki Station, serviced by the Marunouchi Line, Hibiya Line, and Chiyoda Line, and Hibiya Station, accessed by the Hibiya Line and Chiyoda Line, are major Tokyo Metro stations. Located near government offices and office buildings, they are particularly crowded with commuters during morning and evening hours. According to Tokyo Metro, the average daily passenger traffic for fiscal year 2024 is 132,884 at Kasumigaseki Station and 93,712 at Hibiya Station. Note that this figure does not include transfer passengers.
