Rimowa has added about 50 re-crafted aluminum suitcases to its “RE-CRAFTED” lineup, starting sales on August 5.
Since 2023, Rimowa has been collecting aluminum suitcases with wheels from specific stores, repairing and recycling them. The suitcases that qualify for repair are refurbished and sold as products that can be used as good as new.
The suitcases for sale include those with the original owner’s stickers left intact and items that exhibit the “patina” of being well-loved over the years, as well as discontinued two-wheel models, offering a different kind of enjoyment compared to new products. A two-year quality guarantee is included.
Models include the “Topas Check-in M Black” made in 2015 (132,000 yen), the “Topas Check-In M Titanium” from 2007 (same), and the “Topas Check-In L Silver” from 2006 (143,000 yen).
