Amex and Marriott Revamp Services for Two Co-Branded Cards with Significant Annual Fee Increase
American Express will discontinue the “Cancel Protection” service for two business card types on September 30.
The affected cards are the “American Express Business Gold Card” and the “American Express Business Platinum Card.”
“Cancel Protection” is a service that compensates card members for cancellation costs if they can no longer attend events such as trips or concerts. The service covers package tours, accommodations, public transportation, and performances paid with the eligible American Express cards.
The compensation limit varies depending on the card type and applicable conditions. The Business Platinum Card has an annual limit of 500,000 yen, while the Business Gold Card has a limit of 100,000 yen.
