Japan Airlines (JAL) Mileage-Back Upgrade Campaign on Tokyo–Chicago Routes (Sep 21–Oct 25)
Japan Airlines (JAL) will launch the ‘JAL Pay Mile UP Program’ on November 1.
The basic accumulation rate for shopping miles based on spending is set at 0.5% for domestic transactions and 1.2% for international transactions. The accumulation rate increases depending on the usage of JAL Pay or JAL NEOBANK. Detailed information will be released by late October.
From the same day, the accumulation rate for usage with ANA Pay, au PAY, ICOCA, IDARE, MIXI M, nanaco, PASMO, Suica, WAON, and Kumamon! Pay will be reduced to 0.1%. Miles will no longer be awarded for currency exchanges from Japanese Yen to foreign currencies and vice versa; instead, they will be included in the settlement rate for overseas usage.
The ‘JAL NEOBANK Mile Program,’ which awards 150 miles every month for charging 20,000 yen or more from JAL NEOBANK and spending 20,000 yen or more with JAL Pay, will end.
The JAL Life Status Points accumulation will be changed from being based on shopping miles and exchange miles accumulation to being based on mile accumulation. A new fee for USD charges from JAL NEOBANK to JAL Pay will also be set.
While the issuance fee for the JAL Pay prepaid card remains at 1,100 yen, there will be cashback offered for fulfilling conditions and face-to-face international transactions.
