JR-Central Retailing Plus to Launch Sujata Ice Cream (Pistachio) on September 1 in Japan

JR-Central Retailing Plus will begin selling “Sujata Ice Cream (Pistachio)” on September 1.

With a focus on quality ingredients, carefully selected pistachios are made into a luxurious paste and, together with slowly roasted pistachios, are gently folded into an ice cream that balances fresh cream from Hokkaido with domestically produced raw milk from Japan. It features a pleasantly crunchy texture and a rich, nutty aroma.

This original flavor was commercialized with Shinkansen pursers participating in the selection process and was first released in January 2020. This will be the third sales run. Among flavors sold in the past, it is the only one to have outsold vanilla.

On the Tokaido Shinkansen Green Car mobile order service in Japan, sales will start on the same day. At shops and vending machines in Tokaido Shinkansen stations, as well as in the online shop, it will be available as soon as preparations are complete. Prices: 470 yen (tax included) on board trains; 450 yen (tax included) at shops and vending machines; 4,680 yen (tax included) for a 6-piece set and 6,150 yen (tax included) for an 11-piece set at the online shop.
