
“Courtyard by Marriott Kyoto Shijo Karasuma” Opens August 27 – Formerly The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Shijo
Hilton Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan will host an autumn afternoon tea centered on bread, inspired by the story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, titled “Alice and the Queen of Hearts Tea Party,” starting September 5.
The menu features nine original breads inspired by Alice’s world and its characters, such as the “White Rabbit Tropezienne,” evoking the tail of the rabbit who serves the Queen of Hearts; the “Queen’s Stolen Chestnut Tart,” baked with almond cream and candied chestnuts; the “Mince Pie Dedicated to the Grumpy Queen,” spiced with cinnamon and cardamom; and a savory cake, “Off with His Head, Hatter.” In addition, a “Drink Me” agar dessert of dried prunes and yogurt, sweet potato and Dainagon adzuki scones, Chicken Fricassée with Chestnuts and Mushrooms, Apple and Celery Vinegar Salad, and playing card–patterned maple and pistachio cookies will be served. Beverages include 20 varieties, including ART OF TEA selections such as Apple Pie Tea and Chestnut Japanese Black Tea.
