Japan Airlines (JAL) will sell on board the ‘Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Single Malt JAL EXCLUSIVE 2025’ and the ‘Ichiro’s Malt & Grain JAL EXCLUSIVE,’ both produced by Venture Whisky at the Chichibu Distillery.
By offering Japanese craft whisky made at craft distilleries across Japan, JAL aims to inspire travelers to visit regions nationwide and to create relationships and connections through travel. This is the 10th installment of the initiative.
The ‘Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Single Malt JAL EXCLUSIVE 2025’ (40,000 yen) is described as a special bottling matured in bourbon casks and centered on non-peated base spirit, specially vatted with single malts including those from Mizunara oak casks and expressions with mature character to deliver layered flavors. It will be sold to international First Class passengers and also served on board.
The ‘Ichiro’s Malt & Grain JAL EXCLUSIVE’ (20,000 yen) is a JAL-exclusive world blended whisky that blends around 20 different component whiskies with an average maturation of over 10 years, offering a weighty profile and a deep sweetness that unfolds over time. It will be sold to international First and Business Class passengers, and will also be served in Business Class, excluding Korea routes.
