ANA Introduces Cooling Fan Vests for Ground Handling Staff and Mechanics as a Measure Against the Scorching Summer Heat
Japan’s Skymark Airlines launched online booking for its front-row “Forward Seat” on September 3.
Until now, procedures had to be completed at airport counters or via the reservation center, but seat selection and payment can now be done on the website. In addition to the four types of complimentary snacks, Skymark will also add bottled water in response to strong customer demand.
Fees for seat selections made on and after the same date have been revised as follows: Kagoshima–Amami Oshima and Okinawa/Naha–Shimojishima routes: 1,000 yen; Sendai, Ibaraki, Tokyo/Haneda, Nagasaki, and Kagoshima–Kobe routes, plus Ibaraki–Sapporo/Chitose and Nagoya/Chubu–Kagoshima routes: 1,500 yen; all other routes: 2,000 yen.
The launch was initially planned for July 16 and then postponed to August 6 due to system issues at rollout, but further issues occurred, resulting in another delay before the September 3 start.
