JAL: Fee-Free Changes for Tanegashima/Yakushima Flights on Sept 4 as Typhoon No. 15 Nears Japan
Japan Airlines (JAL) has launched a paid Priority Baggage Claim service on its international flights from September 4.
A priority tag will be attached to checked baggage, allowing customers to receive their bags in the same priority order as Business Class passengers.
The service is sold to Economy Class and Premium Economy passengers on JAL-operated flights ticketed by JAL. It is not available for itineraries connecting to other airlines’ operated flights, upon arrival on domestic flights within Japan, on flights with flight numbers in the 8000 range, or for certain fares such as group tour fares.
The price is 2,000 yen per person per sector. JAL Mileage Bank Sapphire members and above, JAL Global Club (JGC) members, and oneworld Sapphire members and above already receive equivalent or higher benefits free of charge, so purchase is unnecessary.
