Japan Airlines (JAL) will retire its third Boeing 777-300ER.
The third airframe is JA735J. Its last flights will be JL2 from Tokyo Haneda to San Francisco on September 8, and the same day’s return JL1 from San Francisco to Tokyo Haneda.
The cabin layout features 244 seats in total: First Class “JAL SUITE” with 8 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration; Business Class “JAL SKY SUITE” with 49 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration; Premium Economy “JAL SKY PREMIUM” with 40 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration; and Economy Class “JAL SKY WIDER” with 147 seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.
While JAL operated 13 Boeing 777-300ERs on long-haul international routes, two have already been retired. With the introduction of the Airbus A350-1000 as its new flagship for international services, the 777-300ER fleet will be phased out.
The aircraft will be featured in guided tours at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on three days: October 4, 10, and 11.
