TfL announces Tube and DLR strikes, September 7–11
Keihan Electric Railway will implement a timetable revision on October 26 on the Keihan Main Line, Oto Line, Nakanoshima Line, Katano Line, and Uji Line in Japan.
On 3000 series trainsets, the Premium Car formation will be changed to two cars; in addition to the current car 6, car 5 will also be a Premium Car. Of the total 173 daily services that include a Premium Car, 66 on weekdays and 68 on weekends and holidays will be operated with 3000 series sets. During daytime hours, roughly two of the five Limited Express trains per hour will be run by 3000 series sets, increasing the number of Premium Car seats available from about 200 to 280.
Keihan will also introduce driver-only operation between Yodoyabashi/Nakanoshima and Kayashima stations on the Keihan Main Line and Nakanoshima Line. This applies to Section Express and Local trains running within this section. Beyond Kayashima toward Kyoto, conductors will continue to be on board. In preparation, the railway will equip trains with car-side cameras, door-obstruction detection devices, in-car security cameras, and a system to stop the train in case of driver incapacitation.
In addition, more services will be added and some operating sections will be extended during the morning and evening rush hours.
