
JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo to Open on October 2
Hyatt Hotels, Kiraku, and Japan’s Takenaka Corporation have closed fundraising for the real estate fund, the Atona Impact Fund.
The Atona Impact Fund is a real estate vehicle that makes focused, proactive investments in development and renovation projects for ryokan under the onsen ryokan brand “Atona (吾汝)” in Japan. A Hyatt affiliate and Kiraku announced their entry into a new onsen ryokan business and established a joint venture, Atona. Initial openings are planned in Yufu, Yakushima, and Hakone in Japan.
Total capital raised amounts to JPY 22 billion, with investors including Aratama Corporation, Cool Japan Fund (Overseas Demand Development Support Organization), Humble House Hotel, and MUFG Bank, among others.
