JR East and Chiba Prefecture Launch “Thank You Chiba Free Pass” — 2-Day Unlimited Rides in Chiba, Japan

JR East (East Japan Railway Company) and Chiba Prefecture will sell the “Thank You Chiba Free Pass,” which allows unlimited rides on JR lines within Chiba Prefecture and select railways, route buses, and a ferry in Japan.

Unlimited rides for two consecutive days are available on the following lines in Chiba Prefecture, Japan: JR East, Kominato Railway, Isumi Railway, Choshi Electric Railway, Ryutetsu, Keisei Electric Railway, Hokuso Railway, and Shibayama Railway. On JR lines, you can use non-reserved seats in ordinary cars on local/rapid trains; by purchasing the required limited-express ticket, you can also board limited express and other surcharge-based services. In addition, designated bus routes operated by Kominato Railway, Kujukuri Railway, JR Bus Kanto, Keisei Bus Chiba East, Nitto Kotsu, and Keisei Taxi East are included, as well as the Tokyo-Wan Ferry route between Kurihama Port and Kanaya Port. The price is Adults 3,970 yen and Children 1,980 yen.

A “Thank You Chiba Free Ticket,” which bundles the free area with a round-trip from stations within JR’s Tokyo Ward Area (Tokyo 23 wards), is also available. The price is Adults 4,790 yen and Children 2,390 yen.

The Autumn edition is valid from September 1 to October 31, and the Early Spring edition is valid from January 4 to February 28, 2026. Tickets can be purchased up to the day of use. They are sold at reserved seat ticket machines at major JR East stations within Chiba Prefecture and at Kurihama Station. The “Thank You Chiba Free Ticket” is sold at major stations in the Tokyo Ward Area.
