Etihad Airways Deploys Airbus A380 on Tokyo Narita–Abu Dhabi Route for the First Time in Japan
Air New Zealand has announced that Wamos Air will operate certain flights on the Tokyo/Narita–Auckland route.
From October 26 to November 29, flights NZ90/99 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and from December 2 to March 29, 2026, flights NZ94/95 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays (departing Auckland the previous day) will be operated by Wamos Air using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. All other flights will continue to be operated by Air New Zealand.
The arrangement is due to supply issues with Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney engines. Some services on routes connecting destinations such as Samoa, Fiji, Tahiti, and Bali are also affected.
The Wamos Air aircraft are former Virgin Atlantic jets, with a cabin layout similar to Air New Zealand’s Boeing 787-9. The configuration features 31 seats in Business Premier, 48 in Premium Economy, and 185 in Economy.
