Uber Launches ‘Uber Premium’ in Osaka City
DiDi Mobility Japan launched a new service, “DiDi Large Wagon,” on the taxi-hailing app “DiDi” on September 5.
Vehicles that can accommodate up to six passengers are intended for families, groups, and inbound visitors to Japan. The service will first roll out in the Osaka area, and when Kansai International Airport, Itami Airport, Kobe Airport, or Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is set as either the pickup or drop-off point, a feature increases the likelihood of a vehicle being dispatched.
For reservations of large wagons with any of the three airports or USJ as the origin or destination, a 5,000 yen cancellation fee applies. Cancellations up to 12 hours before the reserved time, or within 3 minutes after the driver accepts the order, are free.
DiDi Mobility Japan is a joint venture between China’s Didi Chuxing and SoftBank, established in June 2018. The service now operates across 21 prefectures in Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Okinawa.
