Norse Atlantic Airways to Launch Oslo and Stockholm–Phuket Routes in December
Thai AirAsia X will launch the Sendai–Bangkok/Don Mueang route on December 1.
The airline will operate four round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using an Airbus A330-300 with 335 seats. The flight time is 7 hours 30 minutes from Sendai and 6 hours 15 minutes from Bangkok/Don Mueang.
It will be the only nonstop service connecting Japan’s Tohoku region and Bangkok. With inbound travel demand from Thailand to Japan growing in recent years, the airline expects the route to boost visits to the broader Tohoku region. Including existing services Sapporo/Chitose, Tokyo/Narita, Nagoya/Chubu, and Osaka/Kansai — all to Bangkok/Don Mueang — Thai AirAsia X’s Japan network will expand to five routes.
To commemorate the launch, a special one-way fare of 19,990 yen will be offered. Tickets are on sale through September 30 for travel from December 1 to March 27, 2026.
