
Park Hyatt Kyoto: Autumn Afternoon Tea & Desserts, Sept 20–Nov 30
The Westin Miyako Kyoto (Kyoto, Japan) will offer a “Grape Afternoon Tea” featuring Shine Muscat and Kyoho grapes from September 1 to October 31.
The eight desserts include: a jelly layered with vanilla cream and muscat gelée, garnished with both types of grapes; a meringue tart with lemon cream and Shine Muscat jam; a shortcake with champagne gelée; a custard and Shine Muscat tart; chiffon cake accented with caramel sauce; Kyoho grape mousse; a Kyoho millefeuille with a hint of raisins; and a Kyoho pound cake. A separate plate of Kyoho pudding à la mode is also provided. Plain scones are served with house-made Kyoho jam and clotted cream. Savories include four items: sweet potato and bacon quiche; a Kyoho grape sandwich; a tartlet of Shine Muscat with fromage (cheese) mousse; and a green salad.
Location: 2nd-floor tea lounge “Mayfair.” Service times are in six seatings starting at 11:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.; each seating is 2 hours. Price: 7,000 yen, tax and service charge included.
