
Toyoko Inn to Sell ‘Local GENKI Badges’ from April 1
IHG Hotels & Resorts will open Regent Karuizawa in 2028.
The property will offer a total of 58 guestrooms and villas. Designed by architect Kengo Kuma, it will include a specialty restaurant overlooking a ravine, a variety of dining venues and bars, meeting spaces, wellness facilities centered on a spa and onsen (hot springs), and a fitness gym.
In Japan, IHG Hotels & Resorts currently operates 55 hotels across 10 brands, with 17 more under development. For the Regent brand, this will be the second property in the country, following Regent Kyoto, which is scheduled to open in 2028.
