
Hotel Gajoen Tokyo to Undergo Full Renovation
GENSEN HOLDINGS opened TAOYA Minamishima in Shima, Mie Prefecture, Japan, on September 24.
Guest rooms come in Japanese-style, Western-style, Japanese–Western combination, and rooms with open-air baths. The newly built rooms with open-air baths offer ocean views.
Facilities include an Ocean Lounge with a reflecting pool and a Fireplace Lounge; an infinity onsen that appears to merge with the sea; and a post-bath lounge offering beer and ice pops. On-site services are all-inclusive, and massage chairs are available at no extra charge.
Dining is at Restaurant SERA, which serves Mediterranean cuisine using ingredients from the Ise–Shima area. Dishes include Mediterranean-style paella, lemon-cream pasta, and schnitzel made with Mie Prefecture pork; alcoholic beverages are unlimited at dinner.
Access: about 20 minutes by shuttle bus from Kintetsu Ugata Station, or about 1 hour by car from the Ise Expressway Tamaki Interchange (IC).
