
Brussels Airport to Cancel All Departures on October 14 Amid Belgium-Wide Strike
The Charter Bus Operator Safety Evaluation Certification Committee certified the safety of 1,974 charter bus operators in Japan under the Japan Bus Association’s Safety Evaluation Certification System for Charter Bus Operators.
The number of top-ranked three-star operators increased from 1,032 to 1,092. Two-star operators decreased from 245 to 185, and one-star operators from 747 to 697. In total, 1,974 operators are certified, meaning that more than half of all charter bus operators in Japan as of the end of September have obtained certification. Newly certified operators numbered 86.
The screening criteria were revised from this cycle, and the certification mark was also updated. Newly added measures include stricter standards for operations management, recognition of advanced safety initiatives such as health management and the use of advanced safety vehicles, and compliance with regulatory revisions such as video recording of roll calls and the mandatory use of digital tachographs.
One star is awarded to operators scoring 60 points or higher. Two stars require maintaining one-star status for two years and a score of 80 points or higher. Three stars require maintaining two-star status for two years and a score of 80 points or higher.
