Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines to move PSS to Sabre; HA flights to adopt AS codes from April 22, 2026
Cathay Pacific Airways will overhaul the membership structure of its Cathay loyalty program starting January 1, 2027.
Status Points will no longer be reset to zero after qualification, making it possible to achieve multiple status upgrades within one year.
The membership year will be standardized to run from January through December. Gold members and above can carry over surplus Status Points earned to the following year, up to 50% of their points.
A new “Diamond Executive” tier will be introduced. It will be awarded to members who earn 2,400 or more Status Points in a year, with a dedicated relationship manager to support individual needs.
At the very top, an invitation-only “Diamond Plus” status will also be created, granted to Diamond and Diamond Executive members based on annual spending.
In addition, during the membership period, members who have maintained Diamond status for a cumulative five years or more will earn one additional year of Diamond status for every 6,000 Status Points accumulated, which they can apply to activate when needed. This will allow members to retain their status even in years with less travel.
