Japan Transocean Air (JTA) will place the third Jinbei Jet, “Yui Jinbei,” into service within the current fiscal year.
In collaboration with the Okinawa Churashima Foundation, which manages the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, the airline introduced the first “Jinbei Jet” in 2012 and the second “Sakura Jinbei” in 2014 to promote tourism in the northern part of Okinawa Island, Japan.
The third aircraft features green as its base color, inspired by the emerald green of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage–listed “Yanbaru and Iriomote forests” and Okinawa’s sea, expressing the principle that the sea and mountains are deeply connected within nature’s cycle. The design incorporates elements of the natural environment and biodiversity, conveying a commitment to a sustainable future.
In addition to promoting the appeal of northern Okinawa—which will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its inscription as a World Natural Heritage site in 2026—and encouraging visitation, the aircraft is intended to serve as a symbol of co-created awareness activities that widely communicate the importance and significance of conserving biodiversity for future generations, aiming for the sustainable development of Okinawa, Japan.
