Ryanair will reduce 24 German routes in its winter schedule.
A total of 24 routes to and from nine airports in Germany, including Berlin, Hamburg, and Memmingen, are affected. It will continue to suspend service to Dortmund, Dresden, and Leipzig.
The reasons cited are the aviation tax that was raised in May 2024 and the high costs of operating at German airports, with the reduction amounting to 800,000 seats. As a result, capacity will be below the levels of the 2024 winter schedule.
Ryanair says that if the German government reverses the aviation tax increase and reduces soaring airport access costs, it could add 30 aircraft, nearly double annual passenger numbers in Germany to about 34 million, and create more than 1,000 jobs nationwide in Germany.
