Cathay Pacific Showcases New ‘Aria Suite’ Business Class and Premium Economy in Tokyo, Nov 6–8
Michinori Holdings has decided to merge Fukushima Transportation and Aizu Noriai Jidosha (Aizu Bus), effective April 1, 2026.
The merger is subject to approval by the relevant authorities. Assuming the merger of the two companies, their subsidiaries Fukushima Kotsu Kanko and Aizu Travel Service will also merge on the same day.
Fukushima Transportation operates bus, rail, taxi, and travel businesses mainly in the Nakadori area of Fukushima Prefecture, while Aizu Noriai Jidosha operates mainly in the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. Michinori Holdings acquired all shares of Fukushima Transportation in 2009 and Aizu Noriai Jidosha in 2013, and has been working on management streamlining and business improvement.
Because the two companies share many business fields and their service areas are adjacent, integrated operations will aim to optimize management resources and improve efficiency by consolidating sales and administrative functions.
Operationally, this will be a merger of equals, and the post-merger company name will be Fukushima Transportation. Mr. Muto, the current President and Representative Director of Fukushima Transportation, will become President and Representative Director, and Mr. Sato, the current President and Representative Director of Aizu Noriai Jidosha, will become Director and Executive Vice President. The names and vehicle liveries of Fukushima Transportation, Aizu Bus, and Aizu Taxi will be maintained. IC card brands will also continue.
