Emirates will introduce Starlink, the low Earth orbit satellite communication service provided by SpaceX.
A total of 232 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft are covered. The first retrofitted aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER (registration: A6-EPF), will begin operations on November 23 after being displayed at the Dubai Airshow.
Equipping the Airbus A380 with Starlink is a world first, with operations set to begin as early as February 2026. The rollout will proceed at about 14 aircraft per month, with completion targeted for mid-2027. The service will be free of charge.
Two antennas will be installed on Boeing 777s and three on Airbus A380s to ensure high levels of connectivity, capacity, and coverage. Live TV via Starlink will also be offered, initially on personal devices and on seatback screens from late December.
