Japan: Hilton Honors to Introduce New ‘Diamond Reserve’ Tier from January 1, 2026
Belluna disclosed the impact on its hotel business in Japan following the cancellation of trips by Chinese tourists.
Among all hotel guests, Chinese travelers accounted for 2.4% in the first half of fiscal 2025 in Japan, a low level that suggests the impact from reduced lodging demand is limited. Japanese guests made up 62.1% during the same period.
Thanks to operations designed to curb excessive reliance on overseas tour groups, the share of individual guests is relatively high. As of now, while some cancellations have occurred, there have been no major fluctuations in booking trends. Reservations driven by domestic demand in Japan and by other overseas travelers remain stable.
Belluna operates urban and resort hotels in Japan under brands such as Le Grand and Granbell Hotel.
