Korean Air to Suspend Nagoya/Chubu–Busan Route, Nov 30–Dec 31
Japan Airlines (JAL) will upgauge aircraft on the Tokyo/Haneda–Izumo route and host a welcome event to coincide with the Kamiari-sai (Festival of the Gods’ Presence) held at Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine in Shimane Prefecture, Japan.
From the evening of November 29 to the evening of December 6, it is considered the Month of the Gods (Kamiari-zuki), when deities from across Japan gather at Izumo Taisha. The Kami-mukae Shinto ritual to welcome the deities will be held on the 29th, and the Kamiari-sai will take place on the 30th, and on the 4th and 6th.
In November and December, all five daily round trips will be operated with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft to increase seat capacity. Last year, JAL operated extra flights.
On the morning of the 29th, at the arrivals exit of Izumo Airport (Shimane, Japan), JAL will hand out sampling bags containing sightseeing pamphlets and novelties to arriving passengers and hold a welcome event featuring “Shimanekko,” the Shimane Prefecture tourism mascot.
