
Taiwan Railways suspends Pingxi Line until January 30, 2026; bus replacement between Ruifang–Jingtong
Kintetsu Railway, Kintetsu Miyako Hotels, and Kintetsu Retailing will operate the restaurant train “Les Saveurs Shima” from autumn 2026.
The train will be a refurbished 12400 series limited express train consisting of four cars. The exterior will feature blue and white as its base colors with gold lining. Car 4 will be equipped with indirect lighting, leather chairs, a luggage rack, a large baggage space, women-only and unisex restrooms, and a powder room. Cars 1 and 2 will have diagonally arranged seats aligned with the windows and partitions, while Car 1 will also feature space for three wheelchairs, as well as a multipurpose restroom, a women-only restroom, and a powder room. The total investment is approximately 750 million yen.
The service section will be between Kintetsu Nagoya Station and Kashikojima Station. The train will operate six days a week, and seven days a week depending on the season. The schedule will see the outbound train leaving Kintetsu Nagoya Station at around 11:00 a.m. and arriving at Kashikojima Station at around 1:30 p.m., while the return train will depart Kashikojima Station at around 4:30 p.m. and arrive at Kintetsu Nagoya Station at around 7:30 p.m. The train will stop at Ise-shi, Ujiyamada, Isuzugawa, Toba, and Ugata stations.
The train will have 50 reserved seats. A full “French course” meal will be served in Car 4, and a more casual “French set meal” will be offered in Cars 1 and 2. Car 3 will serve as the kitchen car. The menu will be supervised by Kintetsu Miyako Hotels. The “French course” will be overseen by the executive chef of Shima Kanko Hotel in Mie Prefecture, and onboard service will be handled by Kintetsu Retailing.
