Turkish Airlines and Samsung have formed a partnership and launched a “SmartTag-Equipped Baggage Service” on December 1.
By attaching a Galaxy SmartTag compatible with Samsung’s “SmartThings Find” to checked baggage, passengers can obtain baggage location information more quickly and efficiently even in the event of loss or delay. Travelers can also upload photos of their baggage in the “SmartThings Find” app, making it easier to identify their luggage.
This is the world’s first case of an airline introducing SmartThings technology for tracking passengers’ baggage. Going forward, the companies aim to enhance the passenger experience through digital transformation, expanding the use of “SmartThings Find” beyond baggage and incorporating location-based functions into future digital solutions for passengers.
