
Sumitomo Realty Villa Fontaine to Rebrand and Open Hotel Villa Fontaine Tokyo Hibiya in February 2026
RNT Hotels will renovate all guest rooms and common areas of the Richmond Hotel Asakusa and hold a grand reopening on December 1.
The design concept for the renovation is “Minimal Luxury – Serenity and Harmony.” There are 128 rooms in total in 9 types: 83 “Moderate” rooms equipped with a wide bench and side table, 5 “Corner Moderate” rooms, 4 “Twin” rooms suitable for family stays, 1 “Universal Twin” room, 5 “Comfort Twin” rooms, 15 “Precious Moderate” rooms, 5 “Precious Corner Moderate” rooms that offer sweeping views of Senso-ji Temple and Tokyo Skytree, 5 “Precious Twin” rooms, and 5 “Precious Comfort Twin” rooms. The interiors feature a high-quality design that harmonizes the comforting aesthetics of Japanese and Scandinavian styles, and the rooms are designed for convenience and comfort, with USB ports on the headboards and ample storage space.
Breakfast at the first-floor restaurant “Wa Nagomi Café & Dining” is served buffet style. In addition to ramen and matcha pancakes prepared in the live kitchen, guests can enjoy daily rotating items such as beef tendon stew and warabi mochi—dishes that are beloved in the Asakusa area. From 11:00 a.m., the restaurant is available exclusively to staying guests as a lounge, where soft drinks are provided free of charge.
