Five airlines of South Korea’s Hanjin Group will introduce Starlink, the low Earth orbit satellite communication service provided by SpaceX.
The five airlines are Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul. This will be the first time a South Korean airline has adopted Starlink.
Korean Air and Asiana Airlines will first introduce the service on long-haul aircraft, prioritizing the Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900, and plan to complete installation by the end of 2027. Jin Air will introduce it starting with its Boeing 737-8 aircraft. Air Busan and Air Seoul are still considering which aircraft types to equip.
