Japan’s Narita International Airport to Open Airport Café NODOKA in Terminal 2 on October 31
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands will consolidate its ground handling providers into three companies.
Currently, six companies including dnata, Aviapartner, and Swissport are responsible for ground handling operations, but the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands has decided to work with a limited number of carefully selected providers, thereby reducing the number to three.
The providers are being asked to promote the shared use of equipment so that space on the apron can be utilized more effectively. New requirements have also been introduced for employee working conditions and service quality, which will shorten baggage waiting times for travelers upon arrival.
The tender requirements were carefully formulated in consultation with airlines, labor unions, and other parties. The selected providers are scheduled to be decided in the third quarter of 2026, and after a transition period, a new framework will be introduced in the first quarter of 2027. The contract period will be seven years.
