JAL to Operate Extra Tokyo Haneda–Okinawa Naha Flights in January 2026
Japan Airlines (JAL) will increase the number of scheduled freighter flights on the Tokyo/Narita–Chicago route, which it operates as a codeshare with Kalitta Air, starting December 10.
Kalitta Air operates the flights, which route via Anchorage for refueling. The aircraft used will be either the Boeing 777-300ERSF or the Boeing 747-400F.
Kalitta Air has applied a special JAL CARGO logo livery to its Boeing 777-300ERSF (aircraft registration: N769CK). The aircraft was originally planned to be introduced on Japan routes from May 10, but the start was delayed due to aircraft allocation adjustments. After those adjustments were completed, the decision was made again to deploy the aircraft on Japan routes, and this special livery was introduced to commemorate that decision. The first flight is scheduled to arrive at Tokyo/Narita at 8:30 a.m. on December 10 and depart at 11:25 a.m. the same day.
JAL and Kalitta Air concluded a codeshare agreement in May and have since built a stable and flexible air cargo transportation network by utilizing both passenger aircraft and large freighters. With this increase in services, the carriers aim to meet growing cargo demand between Asia and North America and to strengthen their transportation network to North America.
