Hokkaido Air System Cancels Some Flights Due to Engine Issue
Thai AirAsia X has extended the operation period of its Sendai–Bangkok/Don Mueang route until April 29, 2026.
The route was launched on December 1 and currently operates four round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Operations were originally planned only until March 27, 2026, the end of the winter schedule, but the period has been extended in anticipation of increased travel demand around the Thai New Year (Songkran).
This is the only nonstop flight connecting Japan’s Tohoku region and Bangkok, and it was launched in response to growing inbound travel demand from Thailand to Japan. Including routes from Sapporo/Chitose, Tokyo/Narita, Nagoya/Chubu, and Osaka/Kansai to Bangkok/Don Mueang, the airline now operates five routes between Japan and Thailand.
