Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower to Begin Major Renovation in Fall 2026
IHG Hotels & Resorts will open hotels under three of its brands on land adjacent to Universal Studios Japan (USJ) in Osaka, Japan.
In collaboration with Sakurajima Kaihatsu, a company jointly funded by four Japanese firms—Kajima Corporation, Japan Post Real Estate, SMFL Mirai Partners, and Keihanshin Building—IHG will open three hotels in 2029 under the InterContinental, Kimpton, and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts brands.
The hotels will offer a total of 817 guest rooms: 244 at InterContinental, 246 at Kimpton, and 327 at Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, making this IHG’s largest newly built complex in Japan. As official hotels of Universal Studios Japan, they will also be the only foreign-affiliated hotels in the area.
The InterContinental hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, lobby bar & lounge, Japanese-style public bath and jacuzzi, fitness gym, rooftop pool, and meeting & event space including a ballroom and four meeting rooms. The Kimpton hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, rooftop specialty restaurant, deli/café, fitness gym, indoor pool, and meeting & event space including four meeting rooms. The Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts property will include an all-day dining restaurant, deli/café, kids’ club, game room, indoor pool, and kids’ pool.
