China Eastern Airlines to Suspend Okayama–Shanghai Pudong Route from December 16
Finnair will launch a Helsinki–Bangkok/Suvarnabhumi–Melbourne route on October 25, 2026.
The airline will operate one round-trip flight per day, using Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
On the outbound leg, the flight will depart Helsinki around midnight, arrive in Bangkok in the afternoon, and after a short stopover, continue to Melbourne, arriving the following morning. On the return leg, the flight will depart Melbourne in the afternoon, arrive in Bangkok in the evening, and reach Helsinki the following morning. From Helsinki, there will be connections to various European cities in the early morning.
Kristiina Ravnholt, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), commented, “We are very pleased to open flights to a new continent. By connecting Helsinki and Melbourne, which are located on opposite sides of the globe, we are able to offer a truly unique bridge between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. We expect this new route to be attractive not only to travelers heading from Europe to Australia, but also to people from Australia traveling to the Nordic region and beyond.”
