JAL Cancels and Delays Flights Through Late January 2026 After A350-1000 Damaged at New York JFK

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced that a number of flights will be cancelled through the end of January 2026 due to damage sustained by one of its aircraft (Airbus A350-1000, registration: JA10WJ) while parked at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

Around 12:40 a.m. on December 14, the right wing of another airline’s aircraft under tow came into contact with a JAL aircraft that was parked at a designated spot for maintenance. The incident caused damage to the left cockpit window and other areas. According to Radarbox, the aircraft had been operating as Flight JL4 from Tokyo/Haneda to New York/John F. Kennedy on December 3 and has since been parked at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

In addition to the flights already announced, 22 more flights will be cancelled through January 30. Aircraft will be changed on 50 flights.

JAL had previously announced that 12 flights would be cancelled and 18 flights would be delayed between December 19 and 31. The impact on operations from February onward will be announced at a later date.
