Japanese Embassy in France Warns of Violent Incidents on Public Transport Near Paris
The Embassy of Japan in France is urging caution following a series of injury and attempted robbery incidents on public transportation in the suburbs of Paris, France.
On December 26 and 29, incidents involving stabbings and hammer attacks as well as attempted robberies occurred in succession on Line 3 of the Paris Metro, and on January 5, similar incidents occurred on the RER A Line in the suburbs of Paris.
The embassy is calling on people using public transportation such as the metro to always stay aware of their surroundings and, if they sense something is wrong, to raise their voice to alert those nearby and seek assistance from the police.
