
Hokkaido Air System Adds More Cancellations for ATR42 Aircraft Involved in Serious Incident
Hokkaido Air System (HAC) will add more flight cancellations due to inspection and maintenance work on the aircraft that was designated as having been involved in a serious incident.
Maintenance work is underway on the aircraft that experienced an engine malfunction on flight JL2823 from Sapporo/Okadama to Akita on December 11 (ATR 42-600, registration: JA14HC). HAC has newly decided to cancel an additional 50 flights operated between January 19 and 29. Furthermore, up to 90 flights will be delayed by as much as one hour.
As a result, the total number of flights cancelled due to the incident has reached 228. The airline expects to resume operations of the aircraft within the month.
